The Steelhead series was developed to meet the increasingly demanding energy efficiency regulations. With a frame depth of 3 1/4", it features an Insulbar LEF polyamide strut in lieu of a rigid thermal break which results in superior thermal performance and also allows for a dual-color window.
In addition to the Insulbar strut, the Steelhead window features an interior foamed insulation zone.
These features substantially reduces thermal transfer from the exterior of the window to the interior. Along with warm edge spacer, these integrated features reduce heating and cooling loads on HVAC systems, providing long term energy efficienty and utility savings.
Sturdy construction, minimal sight-lines, and versatile architectural applications make these fixed windows a popular choice for a wide variety of residential and commercial buildings.
Projected windows provide the optimum in room air ventilation.

The Steelhead features innovative Insulbar LEF polyamide strut thermal barrier technology that thermally breaks conductiviety of the aluminum frame. The polyamide strut has an ultra-thin applied Low-E film. The film is applied at right angles to the thermal conduction direction on the thermal insulating bar flag, minimizes losses due to thermal radiation at windows, doors and facades, and has the same effect as insulating foam.
Insulbar insulating struts are extremely efficient at preventing energy losses in buildings and enable outstanding Uf values up to conformance with the stringent passive house standard. Lower energy consumption, reduced heating bills and a greener planet - these are the effects achieved through the use of Insulbar.
The Steelhead window has an interior foamed insulation zone. Foam filled windows provide superior thermal performance (measured by U factor and condensation resistance), as well as a little bit of extra structural stability. It can also improve sound transmittance as well.
The Steelhead series features 2 separate Class I aluminum profiles joined by a polyamide strut allowing for dual finish applications.
Marlin offers anodized, painted and powder coat finishes in any available specification or color. The strut profile and film are heat resistant up to 392 °F (for up to 20 minutes), so we are able to powder coat the complete assembly. Custom colored windows require extended lead times for color selection, sample submittal, and production as well as additional cost for setup and minimum order quantities, so Marlin recommends this as an option for larger projects that allow for added time.
Marlin inventories the two most popular anodized finishes - dark bronze and clear anodized for all of our window series. See below for sample colors of our clear anodized, dark bronze anodized and black anodized options.
For project-out vent. Mounted at vent bottom, it allows for approximately 10" of opening. The double arm design also helps achieve corner pull-in and vent stability.
High-pressure die-cast zinc case, crank handle and knob. Hardened steel worm and gear arm.
Bronzecraft standard push/pull & locking handle for casement and project-out windows.
Bronzecraft push/pull locking handle for operation of in-swing vents.
Allows for special key to lock or unlock.
Cast bronze alloy exposed hinge is standard on casements with roto operators or push out hardware.
Stainless steel self-balancing hinge. Standard for awnings, hoppers and inswing casements. Friction adjustment holds windows open at any position.
Marlin's projected windows are balanced with either one or two heavy duty four bar friction hinges. Friction hinges are stainless steel and include a positive stop and an adjustable friction shoe.
Allows for control of vent operation. Requires a special key to lock or unlock.
For opening or closing clerestory or high-mounted windows.
For clerestory or high-mounted project-In vents
